FAQ

List of known compatible web cams:

  • Microsoft Lifecam 3000, Logitech Ultra Vision, Logitech Pro 9000

I get an error about A16_Tmrs.ocx when I install and when I try to run the program.

  • We get this with Vista Users. The solution is to register that part of the program manually. It's a little geeky, but it's not hard to do. We've created a video that shows you exactly what to do.

  • FIRST: Run http://april16.co.uk/downloads/msvbvm50.exe AS ADMINISTRATOR. This is from the programmers who created the A16_Tmrs.ocx. THEN try registering A16_tmrs.ocx manually.

  • Then watch this video tutorial, which explains the following instructions:
    http://www.CommercialCreationCenter.com/tutorials/VistaTutorial.wmv

    • Go to Start and type CMD in the search bar at the bottom.
    • Right click on CMD when it shows up at the top.
    • Select Run As Administrator.
    • Type in cd
    • Type in cd c:\Program Files\Commercial Creation Center and hit your ENTER key on your keyboard
    • Then type in regsvr32 A16_Tmrs.ocx (there's a space after regsvr32) and hit your ENTER key on your keyboard
    • You should see a message that says it succeeded.
  • If you have errors registering Richtx32.ocx, then Vista may not have allowed us to put it on your computer.
    • Download the file from here (http://www.CommercialCreationCenter.com/download/RichTx32.zip)
    • Unzip it and put it in your computer in the "C:\WINDOWS\system32" folder.
    • Go to Start and type CMD in the search bar at the bottom.
    • Right click on CMD when it shows up at the top.
    • Select Run As Administrator.
    • Type in cd
    • Type in cd c:\windows\system32, and press ENTER.
    • Then type regsvr32 richtx32.ocx.
    • You should see a message that says it succeeded.

  • If you still have problems opening the program, then send us a Help Desk Ticket and we'll figure out what's wrong and get you up and running.

I tried logging in to the web site with my username and password, but I can't get in.

  • If this is the FIRST time you have tried to log in to the web site, did you click on the blue link in the email we sent you? You have to activate your account by clicking that link BEFORE you can log in. We do that to make sure that people register with a real email address.

  • Can you remember your password? If not, click the Forgot Password link.

  • If you still cannot log in, then send us a Help Desk Ticket and we'll figure out what's wrong and get you logged in.

Why do I get an echoing sound in my audio recordings?

This one is easy. That is because you are not using a headset microphone. It is picking up all sorts of sounds other than simply your voice. The other problem is that your voice is also going through your speakers and looping back into your microphone and then back through the speakers and back through the microphone...you get the picture.

Use a headset microphone, (and if needed, turn your speakers down or completely off while recording) and you shouldn't have this problem.

Why does it take so long to create the different versions of the videos, or combine a bunch of videos or audios?

People are so used to having computers work quickly that they expect outputting audio and video to be just as fast. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Outputting a finished audio or video requires space on your computer and your computer's brain power to process the information. If you have an older computer, the processing will take much longer. Even with fast computers with lots of storage space (like mine), it takes a LONG TIME to output a video. Not just in the CCC, but even in my fancy programs like Camtasia and Adobe C3.

So your patience needs to equal the length of your original recording. If your final recording is going to be 5 minutes, the time to output it will take at least that length of time. Don't bail out and reboot your computer. Just walk away from your computer or do something else that is not audio or video related while your computer thinks its brains out to produce your videos and audios.

With the Mixers (Audio Mixer, Video Mixer, Slide Show Video Maker), it will take a while to put the different pieces together and output the original audio or video file. With the Screen Recorder and Web Cam Recorder, your original video is actually saved and ready to use the moment you STOP the recording (F7). However, if you checked one of the boxes to create an additional version (like a 320x240 .wmv file, which is the default, or a YouTube video or iPod version), it will take more time to now make copies of your original video in these new formats and sizes.

Where can I get affiliate banners and logos to promote the Commercial Creation Center on my web site?

I am SOOOO glad you asked! http://www.CommercialCreationCenter.com/affiliates/ is the page. But for the code for the banners to include your Affiliate ID, you must first Log In, and at the top of your Account page is a link to that page.

It would be great to have sceen capture on the tool also. That way we could make our slide shows without leaving the app.

We actually already have that ability. It is in the Photo Editor. When you are in the Slide Show Video Maker, and it says above each slide "CLICK HERE to create an image/slide" (or something like that), it will open the Photo Editor. Click LOAD, and then choose Screen Capture. You can capture the entire screen, or just a portion of the screen that you draw with your mouse. (But remember to minimize the Slide Show Video Maker before you press Screen Capture, or it will capture the Slide Show Video Maker.) When you have saved your image, it will then ask you if you want to put it in the slide show.

Question – where can I find a list of file types that the video recorder creates as far as outputs. Example wmv, swf etc.

The Video Converter (as well as the Web Cam and Screen Recorders) output in the following formats and sizes (the 1st three options are most commonly used):

  • 320 x 240 .wmv (default windows download format)
  • 320 x 240 .flv (YouTube)
  • 320 x 240 .mp4 (iPod)
  • 640 x 480 .mp4 (iPod)
  • 640 x 480 .wmv (web site videos and for CDs)
  • 640 x 480 .flv (flash web site videos)
  • .3gp (mobile phone)
  • .wmv (smartphone and pocket pc sizes)
  • 640 x 480 .avi
